About this opportunity

Job Title: Software Engineer, Internal Platforms Job Type: Full-time Location: Remote The Role This is a high-ownership fullstack role where you’ll contribute to — and grow into owning — core internal platform systems end-to-end. You’ll primarily work on building and improving the internal tools, services, and workflows that power our operations, products, and AI-driven infrastructure at scale. What You’ll Own - Contribute to the design and development of end-to-end fullstack systems powering critical internal workflows and platform capabilities. - Build clean, scalable backend services and APIs with clear contracts and ownership. - Develop high-quality, performant frontend interfaces used by internal teams and stakeholders. - Participate in data modeling and database performance optimization (schema design, query tuning, maintainability). - Collaborate closely with product, operations, and design teams to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable systems. - Improve platform reliability, observability, and developer experience across internal tooling. - Uphold engineering quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement. - Help debug and resolve production issues while improving operational resilience. - Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, scalability, and maintainability in a fast-moving environment. What You'll Be Doing - Experience building or contributing to production fullstack systems (internships, projects, or professional experience). - Strong TypeScript fundamentals across frontend and/or backend. - Familiarity with backend development using Node.js (NestJS is a plus). - Experience building user interfaces with React or similar frameworks. - Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and core data modeling principles. - Familiarity with RESTful APIs and distributed system communication patterns. - Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS (or similar). - Awareness of modern architectures (microservices, serverless, or event-driven systems). - Strong problem-solving ability, ownership mindset, and attention to detail. - Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Preferred - Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, or DevOps workflows. - Experience building internal developer platforms, operational tooling, or workflow automation systems. - Exposure to AI-adjacent, data-heavy, or ML-powered products. - Experience working in startup, lab, or high-growth engineering environments. - Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and platform reliability best practices. Compensation & Benefits Notice The national pay range for this full-time position is base salary of $120,000 –$155,000 USD. All employees are eligible for equity compensation, and employees may also receive performance-based bonuses, dependent on role and subject to company policies. micro1 provides a comprehensive benefits package, including up to 100% reimbursement for health-insurance premiums, paid time off, a 401(K) plan with a company match, and additional benefits designed to support a high-performing, remote-first workforce. micro1 is an equal opportunity employer.
