Finance Expert

Practitioner finance experts to write and review real world finance scenarios and grade how AI models handle them. AfterQuery works with leading AI labs to improve how their models handle real world finance. We are building a standing bench of Finance Experts who bring genuine practitioner judgment to that work. This posting covers the full range of finance practice. We are interested in financial advisors, wealth managers and paraplanners; CPAs, tax managers, tax preparers and enrolled agents; retirement and estate planning specialists; corporate finance, FP&A and controllers; consumer banking, lending and credit professionals; and insurance and annuities specialists. The work is creating and reviewing finance scenarios and workflows, the kind of problems you handle for clients every week. You might write out how you would build a client financial plan, prepare an individual return, restructure debt, or assess a retirement position, and then review how an AI model handles the same problem and mark where its reasoning breaks down. Everything is remote and scheduled around you. There is no cap on volume. Task criteria and support are provided in the project chat once you are onboarded, so you are never guessing at the standard.

Tax Attorney Expert

Tax attorneys to build the tax law reasoning scenarios frontier AI labs use to test model judgment. AfterQuery builds the expert evaluation data that frontier AI labs use to measure and improve their models. We're hiring tax attorneys as contractors to author and grade the tax law scenarios those evaluations run on. Tax reasoning is one of the most demanded benchmark areas in legal AI evaluation, and it pays accordingly. What you'll actually do • Author realistic tax scenarios from structuring questions through controversy positions, the kind a practicing tax lawyer actually works. • Write reference answers with the code and regulation reasoning behind each position, authorities cited and weighed. • Grade model output for technical accuracy, authority support, and whether the position would survive scrutiny. • Flag positions that read confident but misapply the code or miss controlling authority, the misses only a practitioner would catch. Who this is for • Attorneys with a JD, active bar admission, and at least two years of tax practice at a firm, in house, or in government. • Practitioners with depth in a real tax area, corporate, partnership, international, controversy, or SALT. • Tax lawyers who reason from the code and regulations, not from summaries of them. • People with strong written English who can turn tax judgment into clear, teachable reasoning. Contract and pay • $120 to $200/hr , paid weekly via Stripe. Your rate is set from your experience, not negotiated down after you start. • Remote and async: fully remote, fully async. No fixed hours. • Minimum 10 hours per week, no maximum. Scale up or down week to week. • No screen recording, no keystroke monitoring, no idle timers. • Independent contractor. Ongoing project work rather than single task batches. How our hiring process works • Apply at /apply/tax-attorney-expert. About five minutes. Resume plus a few structured questions. • Resume review. Every application gets read against a published rubric and gets a decision. • Written assessment. You may be asked to take a written assessment for further placement. • Onboarding. Sign the contractor agreement, connect Stripe, and get platform access. • Project match. You're matched to live work in your specialty, usually within a week of onboarding. About AfterQuery AfterQuery is an expert data lab. We build the evaluation and training data that frontier AI labs use to measure what their models can and can't do in real professional work. Our contributors are practicing professionals, not annotators, and the work is credited, reviewed, and paid at professional rates.

What you'll actually do • Author realistic structural scenarios, from load analysis through connection design • Write reference answers with the code and load path reasoning behind each decision • Grade model output for structural soundness and code compliance • Flag designs that read plausible but would be unsafe or unbuildable Who this is for • Engineers with a degree in civil or structural engineering • Practitioners with at least 2 years of structural design or analysis experience • Engineers with depth in codes such as ASCE 7, ACI, or AISC • Clear writers who can document the reasoning behind a structural decision Contract and pay • $110 to $195/hr , paid weekly via Stripe. What is AfterQuery?

AfterQuery connects subject-matter experts with paid opportunities supporting AI development. Its projects span software engineering, cybersecurity, medicine, law, finance, science, mathematics, languages, audio and video, design, and writing.

Many opportunities are remote and offer hourly compensation, although pay, eligibility, qualifications, and time commitments vary by role.

AfterQuery also offers expert talent pools and assessment-based registrations. AI Gig Scout focuses on individual job opportunities rather than general talent-pool registrations.

AI Gig Scout’s note: AI Gig Scout is an independent job-discovery platform and referral partner; it does not employ applicants, and is not the employer. Applications, selection, compensation, and project assignments are handled by AfterQuery or the relevant client. Listings may change or close, so review the original opportunity for the latest requirements and availability. Where available, each listing displays when it was last checked.

How the AfterQuery application works

  1. 1Explore open opportunitiesBrowse open positions on AfterQuery Experts to find projects matching your domain. Each listing details the project scope, required qualifications, and published hourly rate.
  2. 2Submit your applicationApplications are submitted directly on AfterQuery's portal, typically beginning with a résumé upload followed by domain credentials or licensing details.
  3. 3Complete domain screeningDepending on the field, candidates may undergo technical or subject-matter evaluations so AfterQuery can assess domain depth and project fit.
  4. 4Get matched to project workAccepted experts are invited to projects based on domain requirements and client demand. Joining a talent pool or applying establishes eligibility rather than guaranteed placement.

Eligibility and location

  • Most opportunities are remote contract engagements. Eligibility, geographic availability, and credential requirements vary by role and are stated on each individual listing.
  • Specialist roles generally require verified professional credentials or substantial experience — such as medical licensure (MD) for clinical roles, a law degree (JD) for legal work, CPA certification for accounting, or years of production experience for software engineering positions.
  • Because AfterQuery specifies location requirements on a per-role basis rather than through a single global policy, applicants should verify geographic eligibility on the specific job posting before applying.

Compensation and payment

  • AfterQuery publishes hourly compensation for roles where rates are disclosed. Published hourly rates typically range from $15/hr to $175/hr depending on domain complexity, credential requirements, and seniority.
  • Compensation is project-based and established upfront per listing. Hours and overall earnings depend on active project availability and agreed deliverables rather than a platform-wide rate card.

AI Gig Scout displays pay only where an AfterQuery listing discloses it and does not estimate or guarantee earnings. Treat the compensation stated on the live AfterQuery posting as authoritative.

Before you apply to AfterQuery

  • An application is not a job offer. Public postings describe openings, but candidate selection and project assignments depend on client requirements and active project demand.
  • Talent pools are pre-qualifications. Standing assessment pools establish eligibility to be considered for future matching rather than immediate paid hours.

Frequently asked questions

Is AfterQuery legit?

AfterQuery is an established platform connecting domain specialists with AI training and evaluation projects, publishing clear role scopes and hourly rates where disclosed. AI Gig Scout does not independently verify individual user experiences. Judge legitimacy from AfterQuery's own published terms and each listing's stated requirements, and treat unsolicited messages claiming to be AfterQuery with caution.

How much does AfterQuery pay?

Pay varies by specialization and project scope. Disclosed hourly rates across AfterQuery roles range from around $43/hr for generalist evaluation tasks to $160/hr or more for specialized medical, legal, and quantitative engineering roles. AI Gig Scout displays published rates verbatim from the source listing and does not estimate or guarantee earnings.

Does AfterQuery guarantee work or pay?

No. AfterQuery roles are contract- and project-based. Submitting an application or qualifying for an expert pool establishes eligibility to be matched, but paid hours depend on active client projects and project requirements.

What kind of work does AfterQuery offer?

AfterQuery offers project-based AI training and expert evaluation work across disciplines including software engineering, cybersecurity, medicine, law, finance, sciences, mathematics, linguistics, design, and copywriting. Tasks involve authoring scenarios, evaluating model responses, and providing specialized domain feedback.

Are AfterQuery's assessment pools the same as its jobs?

No. Assessment pools are standing pre-qualification registrations that make your profile eligible for future project matching, whereas individual job listings describe concrete openings with specific scopes and rates. AI Gig Scout focuses on concrete job opportunities rather than talent pools.

Does AI Gig Scout list every AfterQuery job?

We index open opportunities discovered through AfterQuery's public portal. Listings change as projects open and fill, and some engagements may only be offered directly to registered experts. Use the link on this page to view AfterQuery's live platform for the latest availability.

What should I know before applying to AfterQuery?

Compensation and eligibility are set per project rather than by a universal rate card; talent pools and assessment registrations are pre-qualifications rather than immediate job offers; and hiring decisions, interviews, and payments are managed directly by AfterQuery and its clients.
